The Active Pregnancy Foundation joins the nation in mourning the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
We wanted to give you an update on the APF Team Challenge 2022, particularly with regards to the State Funeral scheduled for Monday the 19th of September. We will continue to walk from Macclesfield to Hathersage this Saturday and Sunday, but we will not be walking to Sheffield on Monday.
We want to honour Her Majesty’s memory and enable team members to return home, or to London, in time for the State Funeral.
Our sincere thanks to all those who will be joining us and everyone who has sponsored us so far.
More About the Walk
The Active Pregnancy Foundation invites mums & mums-to-be to walk across the Peak District.
Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th September
The Active Pregnancy Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting women to enjoy and benefit from being active throughout pregnancy and beyond, is holding an awareness raising and fundraising walk across the Peak District.
Starting in Macclesfield the team will walk to Hathersage crossing the Peak District from West-East.
Walking Mums
The charity will be inviting mums and mums-to-be, their partners, family, and friends to walk with the team. Midwives, doctors, physiotherapists and fitness professionals (in fact anyone passionate about the benefits of being active!) are invited to join them on sections of the 40 mile route too.
Walkers can be pregnant, postnatal, carrying their baby in a sling, pushing a pushchair or just coming along to support our efforts, all are invited to enjoy the simple pleasure of walking and talking in the beautiful British countryside. Walkers can participate at a pace and distance that’s right for them.
Walking is by far the most popular activity for pregnant women, which is why
organisations, such as Blaze Trails, who provide walking sessions for parents, particularly mums and mums-to-be, are also invited to join in.
Fundraising
The team are looking to raise £1000 – donations can be made here:
